Awarded Volvo categories

It’s a winner’s world
Volvo team gathers winners in their respective categories – and very little else. Top automotive experts and pickiest juries around the world routinely award Volvo designers and engineers for their efforts. Most recently, Hakan Samuelsson, president and executive director of Volvo Cars, has been heralded as the champion in his category… well, in all categories, when he was voted 2018 World Car Person of the Year. Mr. Samuelsson’s road to the top includes the excellent and innovative large SUV XC90, a model that has left the competition far behind in terms of safety, design and simple driving pleasure. The XC90 was selected as World car of the Year at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. Two years later, New York crowned the spectacular new Volvo XC60 as its new king. Volvo XC60 also won the British Car Tech award for safety and best navigation system. The most important award for the latest Volvo XC40 was certainly the European Car of the Year at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The third Volvo SUV has been recognized as supreme in every way in the most rapidly growing car segment of the moment.
