Once again, we visited the prestigious Cannes Yachting Festival, an event that attracts all lovers of the sea and yachting as much as does the venue itself, the uniquely charming French Cote d’Azur

Over the course of six days, in two locations, Vieux Port and Port Canto, we jumped into the world of nautical excellence and innovation that presented everything from powerboats, sailboats, monohulls, multihulls, and elegant yachts and superyachts. This year’s edition of the event presented an exceptional fleet of almost 700 vessels, ranging in length and style in an impressive manner. Regardless of personal taste and style, Europe’s largest outdoor yacht show, as always, offered something for every visitor. In the ever-evolving nautical world, sustainability has taken center stage. Electric boats and catamarans with solar panels were once again presented as a committed solution to the environmental impact of yachting. We bring you an overview of the few world debuts we saw in Cannes this year.

Sanlorenzo SX100

A unique brand that takes your breath away every time with its design and ideas, Sanlorenzo with the SX100 model presents a crossover yacht where space and function are combined with close contact with the sea. The result of the builder’s constant dialogue with the client, the new SX100 fits effortlessly into the revolutionary SX series, taking its styling cues and innovating them to further optimize content.

An expansive saloon with large floor to ceiling windows affords panoramic views, minimising the division between the interior and exterior of the yacht. Up to eight guests can be accommodated in the four-cabin lower deck layout, which is divided into an owner’s cabin, a VIP cabin and two twin guest cabins.

The sleek and streamlined profile is emblematic of the brand’s sporty personality, which is pointed up in the bow area by a signature style feature referencing luxury SUV automotive imagery and identifying the new Pershing GTX116 as an SUY or Sport Utility Yacht. This yacht in the new range is painted a new shade of grey, with a special shade of blue for the deckhouse, while the generous glazed surfaces flood the interiors with natural light.

Every piece is formed from sections of metal sheeting whose granular surface structure reflects the sunlight onto the floor like waves on the sea. The 360° rotating seats are at the core of a user-focused experience, with all essential features – including a tablet-based infotainment system – arranged within reach.

Lancia Aprea 52

The differences primarily concern the main deck, which in the Mediterranean version has a large sundeck at the stern, while in the US configuration the sundeck disappears to make room for a piece of furniture designed for fishing activities, with a fish tank and a large sofa. Another difference is the engine, which in the American market version is equipped with 4 outboard engines while for the Mediterranean market has two MAN i6800 engines.
