The 2022 edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival, lasting from September 6th until the 11th, was an important anniversary as it has shown that the fair has managed to overcome all adversity during the pandemic years and successfully celebrate its 45th edition
As during previous years, the Cannes Yachting Festival has shown the ever increasing focus on the larger models of the well established lines of yacht manufacturers as well as more luxurious offers in the segment of smaller boats, which are now even more increasingly designed with open cockpits. Catamarans, either motor or sail, are more popular and have become an important segment of the nautical industry and of the Cannes Yachting Festival.
Here we present to you a selection of perhaps the most interesting new models that premiered this year at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022.
Custom Line 140
Custom Line 140 with a length of 42.61 metres and a maximum beam of 8.54 metres is the largest ever built by the brand and officially the new flagship of the Custom Line. This flagship combines design, comfort and spaces never seen before in a tri-deck, with huge interior volumes and a gross tonnage of almost 400GT, not to mention a fast displacement hull that gives the yacht a top speed of 21.5 knots. The interiors are designed and built according to the highest standards of quality, international certifications and attention to detail, in line with Custom Line’s tailor-made approach.
Gulf Craft Majesty 120
At a length of 37 metres, the Majesty 120 is constructed with advanced lightweight materials such as vinyl ester and carbon fibre. Gulf Craft’s in-house design studio is responsible for her naval architecture and exterior design, while the Italian studio of Cristiano Gatto undertook her interior design. The superyacht meets the lifestyle aspirations of discerning yachting enthusiasts with a separate owner cabin and VIP cabin on the lower deck, in addition to a family-friendly lounge. She also features a spacious sundeck, 30 percent larger than other yachts in her class.
Azimut Grande 36M
The new superyacht perfectly embodies the DNA of Azimut’s Grande line, with innovative design choices creating barrier-free spaces. The novel feature of Azimut Grande 36M is the concept of the semi-walkaround upper deck, which runs on the same level from the stern almost to the tip of the bow. A distinctive feature of Grande 36M is layout solutions that can be configured by the owner to ensure freedom in terms of on-board lifestyle too. Grande 36M forms part of Azimut’s Low Emission Yacht range thanks to synergy between the high-efficiency D2P® Displacement-to-Planing hull.
Benetti Oasis 34M
New Oasis 34M fibreglass superyacht brings together all the glamour of the Oasis Deck solution, designed to experience the outdoor space as never before, in a length of just 34 metres. The yacht has an elegant vertical bow and a sleek outline that slopes gently down to the water, broken only by the wheelhouse vertical windscreen. The interiors connect seamlessly with the stern terraces. The owner’s suite, with full-height windows, occupies the entire forward section of the Main Deck The Lower Deck for guest accommodation has two VIP and two twin cabins.
Sanlorenzo SP110
With the new SP110 model, the first open coupé in the history of Sanlorenzo, the company enters the world of sports yachts and combining a green awareness and comfort with unparalleled performance. Fundamental to the realisation of the SP110 is the hull design optimised for use with hydrojet propulsion. SP110 is a two-deck yacht that features an unprecedented layout, consisting of large surfaces that can be used in a variety of ways. The interior spaces are articulated on two floors that are not divided from each other resulting in a decidedly unexpected layout.
Riva 102 Corsaro Super
A dazzlingly beautiful flybridge yacht, the new 102 Corsaro Super delivers even more impressive dimensions: 102 feet of majesty and new style accents that breathe life into an unprecedented masterpiece of yacht design. With three decks and five cabins for 10 guests, the promise of the new Corsaro Super is to dominate the sea, not only from almost 100 square metres of liveable open-air spaces, but also from the interiors, thanks to over 140 square metres of magnificent glazing and glass surfaces that reduce the barriers to visual contact with the natural world around the yacht.
Sunseeker 100 Yacht
With 100 Yacht starts a new era in flybridge design and functionality for the British yard. The sweeping flybridge, with complete walk-around access from bow to stern, is one of areas that defines this yacht. The flybridge is cleverly zoned to offer seamless entertainment. The foredeck has two separate seating arrangements, while the central flybridge has L-shaped seating, a fully equipped wet bar and space aft for free-standing furniture or a spa bath. Powered by MTU engines, the 100 Yacht reaches speeds of up to 29 knots and has a range of 1,300 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.
Ferretti Yachts 860
The launch of the first Ferretti Yachts 860 brings the yachting world a flybridge featuring cutting-edge design solutions shown off with elegant ‘Made in Italy’ style. Ferretti Yachts 860 has been built for an Italian owner who loves her contemporary design and the versatile interiors and exteriors, all combined with a superb cruising experience. The Classic Mood version chosen translates into warm, dark colours with bold contrasts that highlight the impressive size but light touch of a yacht featuring maximum continuity between exteriors and interiors, pointed up by the opening window at starboard.
Sirena 78
Sirena 78 is designed to be a do-it-all cruiser that excels as well as an entertainment platform as she does on longer-range voyages. Her flying bridge is available either in open, semi-enclosed or fully enclosed formats. The new 78 will also have a revolutionary loose-furniture concept so pieces of furniture will be able to be arranged as owner desires. Down below, a full-beam master cabin with a private bath and dressing area is dedicated to the owner. A forepeak VIP is also en suite and benefits from large windows that let passengers watch the water peel away from the hull as the yacht is underway.
Absolute Navetta 75
The new flagship Navetta 75, presented in the company’s 20th anniversary year, embodies all the characteristics that hallmark Absolute yachts. The Navetta 75’s aft deck features Absolute’s signature cockpit terrace, which enhances the feel of a boundless cruising experience by highlighting the sea view. Instead of built-in furniture, Absolute provides modular units that can be arranged as desired, though owners can specify whatever they wish. The sense of space continues in the interiors, particularly for the master stateroom forward, with its large hull side windows that optimise light and views.
Cranchi Sessantasette 67FT
New yacht that will enrich the Cranchi flybridge range has sleek profile, splaying bow and pronounced high and protective gunwale, giving it a naval allure. The saloon is part of an open space area that includes the galley and wheelhouse, elegantly divided by a spectacular backdrop that separates the lounge and dining room from the service areas. The cockpit is bordered in the stern with a large seating area and there is a spectacular staircase leading to the flybridge. The spaces below include a full-beam owner’s cabin, a VIP cabin and guest cabin, both with their own bathroom and double bed.
wallypower58
The wallypower58 features pure lines dominated by the double chines in the hull and the air intakes. The superstructure displays typical Wally DNA with its pillarless curved glass, broad side decks, and ample guest areas that are open to the surroundings but protected from the sun, wind and water. Layouts include the full-beam ‘double saloon’ and the ‘flexi-guest’ providing an additional guest cabin. The Volvo IPS propulsion system features proprietary joystick manoeuvring, dynamic positioning, and Assisted Docking software, while delivering a long range cruising speed of over 30 knots.
Pardo GT52
Pardo GT52 is positioned between the Walkaround and the Endurance range, appealing to a segment of owners looking for even more spacious and comfortable volumes. The new 52-footer in which the central element to its design is based around the continuity between the interior and exterior spaces. A complete reorganization of space offers a wider usability of the cockpit, with a dining area and extended sunbathing areas, as well as a more generous and flexible ‘liveability’ below deck due to the possibility of twin interior layouts (galley up or galley down) that transforms the perception of space.
Princess V50 Open
The V50 has been created using all-new hull, deck and canopy moulds to redefine one of the core models in the range. At the heart of the new deep-V hull are compact, efficient, twin Volvo IPS650 engines that can deliver maximum speeds of over 30 knots. the cockpit arrangement and bathing platform are designed to maximise outdoor living space, with an elongated canopy which provides a comfortable shaded area. The main deck features a U-shaped dining area with an outdoor galley opposite.
FIM 470 Regina
The new 470 Regina is an open that features modular and versatile solutions to maximize outdoor space. The aft of the boat has folding balconies and a splittable solarium. The stern bathing platform is equipped with a lifting system that will facilitate the launching of a tender. The bow contains the lounge solarium can be split in two and moved to the sides thus creating a beach area. This model is totally customizable. The 470 Regina is available with two Volvo Penta IPS 650 or IPS 800, reaching a maximum speed of 39 knots.
Grand Soleil 72
The goal of this project was to realize a boat with an elegant and modern design with high comfort ergonomics both below deck and outside. The Grand Soleil 72 hull lines are featured by a prominent V-shaped bow. The significant dynamic length, thanks to slips and low wetted surface, allows the stern to be eased for reduced friction. This allows higher dynamic speed and stability when the boat is heeled, leading not only to better performance in light wind conditions and also to excellent sailing ease and safety.
Sunreef 80 Eco
The Sunreef 80 Eco is the world’s most advanced green luxury yacht. Her standout features include a revolutionary patented composite-integrated solar power system with cells built into the catamaran’s hulls, superstructure, bimini and mast. This award-winning electric 80-footer is also able to generate green energy while under sail, thanks to a modern hydrogeneration system. Lagoon 51
The Lagoon 51 reveals an optimized circulation on board and a great fluidity. The flybridge is optimized to occupy 80% of the roof with two large sunpads at the front of the helm station and a huge C shape seating area. The central table can be lowered to create an XL sunbathing area. The flybridge of the Lagoon 51 is innovative by the modularity of its spaces. Thanks to the mast being stepped on the fore end of the saloon, the view is continuous. The great luminosity, coming from the 360°vertical windows, and the new wood finishes ‘Alpisand oak’ simply reinforce this feeling of space.
Prestige M48
The M48 reveals generous, brightly lit, and refined living spaces, affording the ultimate in comfort. This 50-foot catamaran benefits from a wider beam than a monohull motor yacht of equal length, allowing for a full-beam owner’s suite, as well as entirely unique guest cabins. The cockpit affords direct access to the interior and the 22-square-meter saloon while the galley features a generous U-shaped countertop complemented by a buffet. The performance of the M48 has been optimized for a cruising speed of between 8 and 18 knots, with a propulsion provided by 2 x 320 HP. The top speed is 20 knots.
DB/43
With its exclusive style, polished finish, and unequalled capacity for entertaining, the new DB/43 goes far beyond the expected features and functions of a day boat. The DB/43 line offers a streamlined design, unique character, and contemporary style. In all aspects, this new model demonstrates power, elegance, and harmony. With its clever, open layout, the new DB/43 is designed for enjoying shared moments with full comfort on board. This model is offered in an inboard version, with twin Volvo D6-380 engines, and an outboard version, with triple 300 or 350 HP engines.
Axopar 45 XC
With its new multifunctional and modular concept, the Axopar 45 sets a new standard – it’s the world’s first outboard powered fully enclosable walk-around cabin boat in its size. Powered by triple Mercury V8 300 Verado engines, the Axopar 45 can cruise economically at any speed between 20 and 35 knots with a top speed of 45+ knots.
