Wider – Project Genesi launched
The Wider 150 Superyacht has been successfully launched at the Wider Super Yacht Division headquarters in Ancona, Italy. This significant milestone in the company’s history was scheduled to take place only after every other yard-based operation had been successfully completed under the cover of the state of the art shipyard. Now with a gleaming white painted hull and superstructure, and intricately refined cabinetry fitted, the yacht that generated so much attention during her construction has been introduced to the ocean for the first time. Wider have been working in very close collaboration with all of their technical suppliers, and industrial giant Emerson Automation concluded eight weeks of tests on the diesel electric system prior to the launch. Their specialist technicians will return for the sea trials working alongside VETH Propulsion, suppliers of the propeller pods, Visedo, suppliers of the electric motors, and EST Technologies, suppliers of the lithium polymer battery banks that lie at the heart of the vessel’s efficient power system. Once every test has been concluded and the yacht has reached the technical and operational excellence that is expected from her, she will be presented to the public in a series of events that will be announced in the near future.
Hot on the heels of the news of the launch of the Wider 150, the Wider 165 – project Cecilia, has now moved into the Wider Superyacht Division’s main production facility for fitting out. Originally developed to fulfil an owner’s desire to equip his vessel with a submersible for thrilling underwater adventures, the Wider 165 is a no-compromise vessel that features advanced multi-functional systems, user-friendly technology, a touch and go helipad, diesel-electric propulsion, and an enhanced relationship with the sea via the Wider beach club area, side platforms, balcony, and an interior seawater swimming pool. www.wider-yachts.com
