Selecting the perfect yacht for 16 guests

When chartering for a group of sixteen, space and layout matter. Look for yachts with at least eight well-appointed cabins, each with its own bathroom, and a mix of indoor and outdoor areas for dining, relaxing, or simply spending time together. A good layout allows guests to come together easily while still having room for privacy. One standout option is La Perla, a 40 meter boutique yacht with eight cabins and a crew of nine. Designed for comfort and style, it offers the feel of a private floating retreat, spacious enough for a group yet refined in every detail.

Advantages of chartering for large groups

Traveling by yacht allows large groups to share a journey without sacrificing flexibility. Unlike hotels or villas, a yacht offers changing scenery, exclusive access to coastal destinations, and the ability to tailor each day to the group’s pace. From shared meals to spontaneous swims, the experience is immersive and social, but always on your terms. Having a professional crew on board means the logistics are handled discreetly, allowing guests to focus on the experience.

Suggested routes and destinations for 16 guests

Croatia’s coastline offers several routes well suited to larger groups. A popular itinerary might start in Split, visiting Brač, Hvar, Korčula, and the national park island of Mljet, before finishing in Dubrovnik. Farther north, the Kornati Islands and the Zadar archipelago offer a mix of open water, quiet bays, and historic coastal towns. Those beginning in the North Adriatic can explore Istria’s coastline, combining cultural stops like Rovinj and Pula with swimming spots around Cres or Lošinj. Each route can be tailored to your group’s preferences, whether you want more time in nature, lively seaside towns, or calm days on the water.

Comfort and entertainment aboard large charter yachts

Large yachts come equipped to support both social time and private retreat. Most feature multiple decks, indoor and outdoor dining spaces, generous lounges, and water level beach clubs. Onboard amenities often include jacuzzis, open air cinemas, and full entertainment systems. For time on the water, guests can enjoy a wide selection of equipment such as jet skis, sea bobs, paddleboards, kayaks, wakeboards, water skis, towable inflatables, and snorkeling gear. Some yachts also offer e foils or diving setups. The crew handles every detail, leaving you free to enjoy the day, from quiet mornings on deck to afternoons of water sports and film nights under the stars.

FAQ

Just call us :) You should first define the boundaries of your needs and budget. The most important is to determine the number of guests you need to accommodate because it dictates the size and number of cabins. You need to pay attention to the configuration of the cabins, double or twin, and also take care of the sizes of double beds. In general, yachts offer personalized service of high level, but the quality of service is related to number of crew. Based on prefilled preference list, we will make sure that your wishes are carefully executed. Finally, choose the period which suits you the best to make your yachting dreams come true.

In case you have special wishes regarding the cruise itinerary, be sure to consult your charter broker. Namely, the cruising route primarily depends on the weather conditions, the speed of your yacht and the available berths in the marinas. Please note that the yacht's flag may restrict entry to some countries and that some countries require a visa when entering.

The best time is stretched from spring to autumn. In Croatia, the pre-season starts with Easter and lasts until the beginning of July. The weather is changeable with sea temperatures up to 23. The days are long and there are no big crowds at the anchorages and marinas. July and August are considered the peak of the season. The sea is warm with air temperatures higher than 30. It's pretty busy at sea, in bays and marinas. Guests who like crushes and night parties consider this an ideal period for a cruising vacation. September and October are ideal months for all lovers of romantic moments. The weather is still pleasant and warm, although the days are shorter. Prices in this period are lower and on islands there are no big jams - just like in the spring pre-season.

The yacht rental price always refers to a period of 7 days. The basic price of renting a luxury yacht includes the hire of the yacht, yacht's insurance and crew service. An additional cost is VAT of 13%, and the supplies, fuel, marina fees and all extra services, and are always covered by the APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) which is usually 30% of the charter fee. Delivery/return fees may also apply if the charter week does not start/end from the home port. The crew will take care that your every wish is realized, also based on the pre-filled Preference List.

Yachts can accommodate up to 12 people, at maximum. The exceptions are the mini-cruisers that can operate with more cabins, and are small passenger ships. But, the realistic capacity of the yacht is limited by the number of cabins, which can be double or twin, and the number of sleeping places defines the number of guests which yachts can accommodate. Normally it varies between 6 and 12 guests. Some yachts have Pullman beds (extra bunk bed) that are often seen in children’s rooms, so for example, you can have 11 guests in a five-cabin yacht.

A tip for the crew is not mandatory, but it is common to leave 5-15% of the total charter fee. It depends completely on the level of your satisfaction. It is customary to leave the tip to the captain who will distribute it among the entire crew.
