Benetti Unveils Clear Waves: Wellness at the Heart of Yacht Design

Italian builder Benetti has unveiled Clear Waves, a ground-breaking 70-metre megayacht concept developed alongside LUCA DINI Design & Architecture and anti-ageing specialist The Longevity Suite. Built around five core pillars: environment, movement, social connection, mental and spiritual wellbeing, and technology, the project shifts the focus of naval architecture toward holistic human health and longevity.

Reversing traditional yacht layouts, Clear Waves places its primary wellness sanctuary on the prestigious upper deck rather than the lower deck. Framed by natural foliage, this central area features relaxation zones, a dedicated food and beverage island, thermal water circuits, and state-of-the-art treatment technology. The entire vessel supports continuous physical and mental recovery through purified air filtration, circadian lighting, and sleep-optimised spaces.

The focal point of the vessel is the Glass Dome, a 400-square-metre structure spanning two decks that delivers uninterrupted 360-degree views. Functioning as a self-sufficient biosphere, the dome overcomes thermal management challenges by incorporating translucent photovoltaic panels across over 60% of its surface, low-emissivity UV-filtering glass, and a direct-expansion HVAC system. Its geometric design also utilizes the natural stack effect for constant, draught-free ventilation.

In partnership with The Longevity Suite, the megayacht offers tailored diagnostic assessments and advanced biohacking technologies. Onboard therapies include Cryosuite Total Body treatment, Dry Floating, Near Infrared Therapy, Hydrogen-Oxygen Therapy, and the Revital Chamber hyperbaric system, allowing guests to maintain a personalized wellness regimen while at sea.

Aligning personal health with environmental care, Benetti engineered the vessel in line with its Green Route initiative. Developed with Meccano Engineering, Clear Waves features a hybrid propulsion configuration with dual-fuel capability ready for HVO biofuel and methanol, fully validated by Lloyd’s Register. An additional 250 square metres of solar panels yield up to 120 kWh of power, complemented by smart energy management, heat recovery, and advanced emission control systems.
