Step Aboard the Grand Soleil 60: High Performance Bluewater Cruiser
Born from a collaboration between naval architect Matteo Polli, design studio Nauta, and Cantiere del Pardo, the Grand Soleil 60 represents the latest evolution of the Italian yard's fast bluewater concept.
Visually, the boat commands attention with its sleek shearline, plumb bow, low profile coachroof, and towering 25.7 metre rig. Aft, an expansive cockpit and drop down bathing platform provide exceptional relaxation space entirely separate from the helm and working lines.
Under way, Matteo Polli’s racing heritage delivers impressive efficiency. Featuring a 2.8 metre bulb keel, single spade rudder, and stiff vinylester sandwich hull, the yacht easily maintains 6 to 7 knots in light Mediterranean breezes and accelerates past 10 knots in a decent wind.
Sail handling is optimized for shorthanded cruising. Control lines run neatly under the deck to the helm pedestals. Equipped with Harken Performa electric winches, this setup keeps the side decks entirely uncluttered. Owners can opt for the standard aluminium mast with a self-tacking jib. Alternatively, performance upgrades include carbon spars and a Park Avenue boom.
A custom bowsprit with electric furlers can also be added for Code sails. For extended offshore passages, the forward sail locker can easily convert into a dedicated crew berth.
Below deck, the generous 5.8 metre beam creates a bright, open plan saloon featuring a six person dining table, media lounge, and a cleverly stepped down forward galley with high end appliances. The arrangement offers flexibility, including an optional fourth bunk cabin opposite the galley.
The master suite occupies the peaceful forepeak, positioning the double bed near the yacht's centre of motion for maximum comfort under way, complete with a private ensuite. Aft, two climate controlled guest cabins with ensuite heads round out an interior defined by meticulous hand finished woodwork.
