Brač Yacht Charter: Sail Among Golden Beaches
Island of Brač, located in the immediate proximity of Split, offers everything a modern yachtsman could ask for
A Brač luxury yacht charter lets you experience one of Croatia’s most diverse islands from the best possible perspective - the sea. Just a short sail from Split, Brač offers everything a modern yachtsman could want: safe marinas, quiet fishing villages, world-famous beaches, historic hermitages carved into cliffs and stone towns that look like open-air museums. While Milna and Bol are well-known nautical icons, the island’s north and north-east shores remain one of Dalmatia’s least explored sailing areas, waiting for curious crews to discover them.
Why Choose a Brač Luxury Yacht Charter
Between Safe Harbours and Wild Coves
Milna, often the first stop after leaving Split, is the natural yachting centre of Brač and the backbone of any Brač yacht charter Croatia itinerary. This deep, sheltered bay can host hundreds of yachts, with three marinas sharing the calm waters: private marina Vlaška near the entrance, ACI Marina Milna in the heart of the bay and the nearby berths of the Nautical Center Milna. The biggest threat to a good night’s sleep here is the joyful morning echo of church bells.
An Island Made of Sun and Stone
From Milna you can head north to romantic Bobovišća, a quiet bay with buoy moorings and a beloved local restaurant, or trace the south coast where pine-fringed coves, vineyards and cliffs create a constantly changing backdrop. All along the way, Brač’s reputation as one of Croatia’s sunniest island and its heritage of stone-carving give every anchorage a distinctive character.
Western and Southern Brač - Milna, Coves and Zlatni Rat
Osibova, Lučice, Maslinova and Smrka Bays
South of Milna, anchorages like Osibova, Lučice, Maslinova and Smrka line the coast. Osibova offers visitor buoys and a quiet setting, while Lučice, with its many branches and long-standing foodie reputation, is a highlight of any Brač luxury yacht charter guide. Western branches are lined with buoys; eastern ones hold ample space for anchoring. Maslinova and Smrka hide former military tunnels for boats and a small family restaurant serving local dishes, ideal when the weather turns or you simply crave something authentic.
Blaca Hermitage - A Hidden Monastery Above the Sea
Further east lies the bay of Blaca, a simple but stunning anchorage beneath stark cliffs. From there, a half-hour walk leads to the historic Blaca hermitage, a monastery tucked away in the rocks. Today it is both a major cultural sight on Brač and a monument to human perseverance, best visited in the cool of early morning.
Bol and Zlatni Rat - Iconic Beach and Nautical Hub
Rounding the southern side brings you to Bol, the island’s second major yachting centre and home to the legendary Zlatni rat beach. Famous for its shifting tip shaped by wind and currents, this pebble tongue has become a global symbol of Croatian summer. Behind the postcard view lies a town that mixes traditional spirit with lively summer nights. Bol offers moorings for yachts up to 40 metres and a fuel station, but keep in mind it is exposed to all southern winds.
Eastern and Northern Shores – Sumartin to Pučišća and Beyond
Sumartin, Rasotica and Eastern Anchorages
From Bol to Sumartin, only a handful of bays offer anchoring in calm weather, including deep, quiet Studena near the island’s eastern tip.
Sumartin itself is a small fishing village with a ferry port, about forty berths and a fuel station in the western branch of the bay. Larger fishing boats sometimes line the quay – a perfect chance to buy just-caught fish for dinner. Nearby Rasotica, a narrow turquoise bay reaching into the island’s heart, offers excellent shelter from westerlies if you secure aft lines to the rocks.
Povlja, Lovrečina and Northern Secrets
Most sailors know little about the northern shores of Brač, yet they hide some of the island’s brightest gems. Povlja, once a Roman anchorage, now offers a handful of berths and two inviting seaside restaurants with mooring buoys in a protected, branching bay.
Westward, bays such as Konopjikova, Težišće and Česminova combine pine forest, white pebbles and traces of old quarries.
The best-known among them is Lovrečina bay, both an important archaeological site and home to the island’s only sandy beach, a rarity in this stone-dominated landscape.
Pučišća, Postira, Splitska and Supetar
Continuing along the coast, you reach Pučišća, a hypnotically white stone village that feels like an open-air gallery. A stone-cutting school, noble palaces such as Puteus Palace and several preserved castles testify to the island’s stonemasonry tradition.
Further west, Postira combines fishing heritage, a renowned canned-fish factory and the charming Little Night Regatta in mid-August, sailed to the sound of Mozart. New berths and strong food-and-wine credentials have turned Postira into a genuine foodie hotspot. Splitska offers a harmonious harbour, a family castle that once guarded against pirates and easy access to Škrip, the island’s oldest settlement with its own Brač museum and nearby Roman quarry.
At the western end, Supetar, the largest town and main ferry port, has around thirty commercial berths, growing popularity among boaters and easy escape to the quieter bays of Mirci and Podmirci nearby.
Best Time to Visit Brač and Its Most Popular Beaches
Sailing Season from April to October

Besides the iconic Zlatni rat, nearby Murvica and Paklina offer wild, dramatic scenery, with Paklina also known as a naturist beach.
