Date

Endless yachting possibilities, deserted coves and small island villages make Šibenik Luxury Yacht Charter a once in a lifetime experience.

The Šibenik archipelago is one of the six largest in the Adriatic. The Adriatic may be small in comparison to other seas, but each of its many archipelagos is a microcosm in itself, with a unique island environment, climate and maritime conditions.

This Šibenik luxury yacht charter guide will take you through this incredible archipelago in the middle of Croatian waters that is affectionately called the navel of the Adriatic.

Šibenik Cathedral and the old town center are an irresistible lure for both locals and foreign visitors, with the latter sometimes arriving on real superyachts

The Šibenik archipelago, safe from the summer hustle and bustle of party yachts that turn the nearby waters of Split into an endless party, is blessed with many uninhabited islands, the first of many meditation-inspiring details that will allow your mind to wander.

In the waters surrounding Šibenik, the people are friendly and you'll never have any complaints (or problems) with Šibenik's weather: mild, sunny and moderately windy.

Šibenik is a Croatian gem with stunning medieval architecture, charming waterfalls and a lively promenade. Charter a yacht to explore this hidden gem and discover its many treasures.

ACI Marina Skradin yacht charter

Most of the islands of the archipelago are located close to the mainland, which is home to four large marinas that can accommodate even large yachts: Marina Tribunj, ACI Marina Vodice, Marina Mandalina (Šibenik) and Marina Kremik (Primošten). Near the entrance to the Krka National Park there is another marina, ACI Marina Skradin.

Which islands to visit in the Šibenik archipelago?

You can always forget about the structured world of marinas and improvise by dropping anchor on one of the many island oases: Zlarin and Prvić are closer to the town, Tijat, Zmajan and Kakan are uninhabited, Kaprije and Žirje overlook the open sea. In addition, the island of Krapanj, which is only 300 m from the mainland, is history in its own right.

Kornati National Park

The famous Kornati National Park and Murter are also nearby, but they do not belong to the Šibenik archipelago. It seems as if Mother Nature has shaped this part of the Adriatic especially for boat rentals in Šibenik; the long, narrow track to Krka National Park. You can take that long, winding canyon to Lake Prokljansko, enjoying the sci-fi setting, all the way to the town of Skradin.

Kornati’s dramatic islands and clear waters

The town at the mouth of the Krka River is a safe option without major waves, a charming place whose tranquillity is interrupted only by frogs and crickets performing their nightly gigs.

The islands of Prvić, Zlarin and Lupac

Šibenik luxury yacht charter guide, almost immediately after leaving the Sv. Nikola channel recommends visiting the amazing islands Zlarin and Prvić. Zlarin is both an island and the largest town on it, a peaceful place with soothing sunsets and pastel-coloured houses.

Moor your yacht at the long pier and take a relaxing stroll, preferably to the trattoria Prslika, a favourite of international celebrities and lovers of good food. If you want to get to know the island of Zlarin in Croatia, but don't feel like strolling through the busy streets of the town, we suggest anchoring in the Magarna inlet on the north-eastern side of the island.

prvic island croatia

The island of Prvić - the third of the trio with Zlarin and Lupac - is similar to Zlarin. The only sheltered harbour on the island is Prvić Luka, but you can drop anchor at Trstevica beach in nearby Šepurine. Trattoria Ribarski dvori has reserved "parking spaces" for its customers.

When in Prvić, be sure to see the Faust Vrančić Memorial Museum, take a one-mile walk to Šepurine and explore the cobbled streets, and at sunset sit down for a relaxing dinner by the sea. The most famous restaurant on the island of Prvić is Mareta, whose traditional food, freshly made ice cream and friendly staff explain its enduring popularity.

Krapanj - the island of sea sponges

Krapanj is a unique Croatian island by any standards and a must-see in our Šibenik luxury yacht charter guide. As well as being the smallest and lowest (1.25m) inhabited island in Croatia, it is famous for the sea sponges that have shaped the island's identity in the past - make sure you don't leave this little gem in the heart of the Šibenik archipelago without getting this valuable souvenir. Yachts can moor in a small harbour in front of the land.

The island of Tijat

In the Šibenik archipelago, the island of Tijat is very popular with lovers of peace and calm turquoise waters. There is only one anchorage there: the well-protected cove Tijašćica, with many buoys and a small pontoon. The cove is somewhat crowded during the day, but at sunset the calm descends upon it. The newly opened summer bar Spirito is the only place on the island that gets a little noisy, but only a little, so sit by the pine trees and enjoy a cocktail.

Unlike Tijat, uninhabited Zmajan has no natural coves. In good weather, its southern coast is perfect for Šibenik yacht charter enthusiasts looking for a serene night under the stars.

Kaprije - a car-free island

The island of Kaprije - named after the delicious caper - is the heart of the Šibenik archipelago and a logical choice for those in transit between Split and Kornati. The best sheltered place to drop anchor is the cove of Kaprije, and the island's most famous trattoria, Kod Kate.

Kaprije may be small, but it offers more than one cove and one trattoria: Remetić cove has ten buoys, Medoš cove promises an excellent lunch in the Kunjka trattoria, Mala Nozdra cove has two trattorias - Mateo and G-8.

All these coves are uninhabited, and the restaurants and trattorias can only be reached by boat. With this in mind, we can declare them impressive nautical locations in this Šibenik luxury yacht charter guide.

Kakan

The uninhabited island of Kakan is another popular micro nautical location in the Šibenik archipelago: Potkućina cove is a large lagoon, a blue and green backwater with 60 buoys, well protected from the wind.

Dining options in the cove include the Babalu grill and bar and the Sedmo nebo (seventh heaven) restaurant, while the nearby Tratica cove beckons with the aromas coming from the cuisine of the Paradiso trattoria. A beach, pine trees, sea views and fresh seafood, what more could you ask for?

Žirje

The island of Žirje spent most of its time idle and unexplored, but this former Yugoslav army base escaped the fate of its many neighbours who ended up suffocated under private villas and chain hotels. The island's only ferry port is Muna, with a general store to replenish the larder.

The island's most famous cove is Vela Stupica, where you can dine at the family-run Rosa restaurant, and rather less popular is its smaller twin Mala Stupica, which still offers several buoys. The deep Tratinska cove promises a quiet evening after a good dinner at the Tratinska trattoria, whose sea views are as spectacular as its food.

Quiet coves like Mikavica are ideal for those looking for a good night's rest, after which you can end your tour of the Šibenik archipelago at the picturesque Blitvenica lighthouse.
