Just steps from the sea and within easy reach of Korčula’s historic old town, a hotel with more than a century of tradition is being transformed into an intimate address for guests who come to the island in search of authentic Adriatic luxury

The recognisable silhouette of Korčula’s old town, long admired by yacht owners and travellers drawn to the atmosphere of the Mediterranean, is about to gain a new focal point in the heart of the historic centre. A landmark hotel with over 110 years of tradition is undergoing a comprehensive renovation and redesign, set to reopen as the exclusive Aminess Younique Korčula Heritage Hotel, a five-star boutique property.

The building dates back to the 18th century and has operated as a hotel since 1912. For decades, it attracted an international clientele seeking discretion and refined service just steps from the sea. Over the years, its guestbook has included some of the most iconic names of the 20th century, among them Jackie Kennedy, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and Orson Welles.

The project, designed by the architectural studio Atellior, focuses on reviving the building’s historical character while carefully preserving the architectural heritage that has shaped the urban identity of Korčula

The new interiors combine a sense of heritage with contemporary comfort, with particular attention given to eleven premium rooms where every detail is designed to offer a highly personalised guest experience. Alongside an elegant lobby bar, the hotel’s iconic terrace, located just a few steps from the sea, will remain a central social point, as it has been for generations of locals and visitors.

A special focus will also be placed on the gourmet experience at the 7 Seas restaurant, led by renowned chef Matija Bogdan. With experience at London’s celebrated Ledbury, Bogdan introduces a fine-dining concept built around the best local ingredients and a carefully curated wine list.
