Anantara and Minor Reserve Collection Set to Redefine Adriatic Luxury in 2026
The northern Adriatic gains two globally recognised luxury brands, reinforcing Savudrija and Portorož as key addresses in the region’s evolving high-end hospitality landscape
The Adriatic luxury hospitality landscape is entering a new phase as Minor Hotels expands its European portfolio through a strategic partnership with MK Group. The collaboration brings two of the group’s most distinguished brands, Anantara Hotels & Resorts and Minor Reserve Collection, to Croatia and Slovenia, marking a significant shift in the region’s high-end positioning.
Both properties are scheduled to welcome guests in late March 2026, while full repositioning and official brand relaunches are set for the first quarter of 2027, following extensive refurbishment programmes.
In Savudrija, on the Istrian peninsula, the forthcoming Anantara Adriatic Istria Resort will mark the official debut of the Anantara brand in Croatia. Designed as a wellness-focused coastal retreat, the resort will feature a full-service spa, dedicated wellness centre, and direct beach access. A defining element of the property is its seamless integration with Golf Adriatic PGA National Croatia, an 18-hole championship course stretching alongside the coastline, positioning the resort as one of the Adriatic’s most distinctive golf-and-sea destinations.
Beyond wellness and sports, the resort will offer curated cultural programs exploring Istrian heritage, gastronomy, and nature-led experiences, aligning with the region’s growing reputation as a refined lifestyle destination. Its proximity to international airports in Trieste, Pula, and Rijeka further strengthens its accessibility for global travellers.
Across the border in Portorož, the historic Hotel Palace Portorož will be repositioned under the Minor Reserve Collection. The 183-key property will retain its architectural identity while enhancing its positioning through highly personalised service and privacy-driven experiences. The redesigned spa and wellness centre will pay homage to Portorož’s longstanding tradition of healing, complemented by indoor and outdoor pools and a renewed focus on understated Adriatic elegance.
Situated near the airports of Trieste and Portorož, the Slovenian resort further strengthens the northern Adriatic’s appeal as an emerging hub for sophisticated, experience-led luxury travel. Together, these openings signal a strategic elevation of the region’s hospitality landscape, positioning the northern Adriatic as an increasingly relevant address on the European luxury map.
For yacht owners and charter guests navigating the northern Adriatic, both properties naturally position themselves as refined onshore extensions, ideal for pre- or post-charter stays, wellness resets, and curated inland experiences beyond the coastline.
