Absolute Navetta 62 Review: Journey into Elegance
The new Navetta 62 has everything that makes the Navetta line recognizable, wrapped in a brand new design peppered with modern and trendy details among the most attractive in its class
We had the opportunity to test the new Navetta 62 before its official debut in Cannes, in Varazze, the place where all Absolute motor yachts are assembled and launched. The new Navetta 62 masterfully combines efficiency, luxury, and comfort.
Key innovations and design changes
This time, Absolute has raised the bar of quality even higher and added extra touches to the exterior, with dynamic lines and large glazed surfaces, while the white hull has been given even more unique and decisive lines, for an overall more aggressive look.
The vertical, sliced stern increases the usable space on and below deck, and the side railings are partially protected by a steel railing or glass panels. The wide side passages are thus protected and discreetly lit at night. Optional solar cells on the hardtop are also available, providing up to 1.8 kW of maximum power, enough to power on-board systems and give the generator a break.
Exterior layout and outdoor living
The cockpit is spacious and versatile, with a lovely sunbathing area and easy access to the stern platform, bridge, bow and, of course, the main deck. In addition to being spacious, the cockpit is completely open and equipped with modular seating, and the platform and staircase are lit by ambient lighting. Next to the sliding door, the external bar has a Corian worktop, sink, storage, and refrigerator, and space is also provided for a third helm station.
The bow was designed for relaxation and socializing; this large area is equipped with a U-shaped bench and cushions, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The sun pad has four adjustable backrests and can be converted into an auxiliary bench.
There is another sun pad on the fly bridge, next to the helm, as well as a dining table served by seating, a refrigerator, a grill, a sink, an ice maker, and another terrace aft, which can be furnished with modular seating or sun loungers and a coffee table. This space is protected by a hard top supported by a carbon structure, also available with a hard top opening or solar panels.
Inside the Navetta 62
The salon has large windows and offers a 360° view of the sea. The large galley along the side allows easy passage forward, where two spacious, facing sofas and a built-in TV that disappears when not in use create a perfectly cozy salon. The furniture is light and the floor has no steps, which makes it appear larger.
The galley is glossy, equipped with a combined microwave and oven, a four-burner induction hob, and an integrated extractor hood – a first for the Absolute. The dining area starboard has a table seating six that can be moved toward the center. The living area is spacious and bright, with large side windows and ambient lighting hidden under the furniture.
The bridge offers excellent visibility thanks to the gigantic windscreen and side windows which make maneuvering super easy. Two large Garmin displays provide all the navigation information, and a dedicated door starboard leads directly to the deck. Two manually adjustable seats in anthracite gray leather offer comfort to the skipper and one companion.
Cabin arrangement
Below deck, there is accommodation for up to eight guests. Optional layouts include a forward master cabin, a full-width VIP cabin, and a starboard cabin with twin berths that can be converted into a double bed.
All cabins and bathrooms are designed in high-quality materials, and the furniture boasts gentle, soft, rounded lines and lovely wooden details. Below the master cabin in the bow lies hidden a large technical and storage area.
Sea trial
Gentle rolling sea and fluffy clouds floating above the nearby hills painted an idyllic backdrop for our sea trial of the new Navetta 62, powered by two Volvo Penta D13 IPS engines with a total power of 1,350 hp. The IPS drive did what it always does, making maneuvering easy and precise while we were leaving the narrow berth in the marina.
Performance and fuel consumption
We were absolutely delighted with the smooth, vibration-free ride the new Navetta offered. This 18-meter yacht weighs almost 34 tons, but when the engines warmed up, we quickly reached a planing speed of around 14 knots, with fuel consumption reaching approximately 145 l/h at 1,600 rpm.
When we pushed the throttle to 2100 rpm, we reached the cruising speed of 23.1 knots, and even at the top speed of 29.7 knots, there were no vibrations, while fuel consumption rose to 362 liters per hour.
Absolute Navetta 62 combines elegance, innovation, and functionality into a stylish, harmonious unit. As is always the case with Absolute models, this model is the perfect mixture of pleasure, refinement, and unforgettable moments at sea, whether enjoyed privately or through an exclusive luxury charter experience.
