Meet the Apreamare Gozzo 42: The Sorrento Classic Goes Modern
Apreamare has launched the Gozzo 42, a contemporary evolution of the classic Sorrento gozzo that blends traditional Mediterranean boatbuilding with a sporty, modern design.
Developed by Cataldo Aprea alongside designers Marco Casali (Too Design) and naval architect Umberto Tagliavini (Marine Design), the 12.80-metre motorboat redefines the iconic Gozzo line while preserving its internationally recognised identity.
Gozzo 42 design: New silhouette, classic DNA
The Apreamare Gozzo 42 features a fully redesigned hull and a sleek hardtop with an optional glass windscreen for all-weather cruising comfort. The ergonomic helm station includes optional air conditioning, while integrated hull air inlets improve engine room cooling. A nearly six-square-metre stern platform with a retractable swim ladder and tender lift completes the exterior.
Onboard liveability: Built for the Mediterranean lifestyle
The spacious cockpit centres on a two-metre sunpad and a C-shaped sofa for up to eight people. A private bow lounge adds facing sofas and a second sunpad, both shaded by carbon fibre-supported awnings. The fully customisable wet bar accommodates dual refrigerators, an ice maker, and induction hobs or a barbecue.
Interiors and performance of the Gozzo 42
Light filled, open plan interiors benefit from enlarged hull and deck windows. The master cabin includes full height wardrobes and a privacy partition, while an optional second stern cabin sleeps two.
The new Apreamare is powered by twin Volvo Penta D6 or IPS engines ranging from 380 to 600 hp, reaching top speeds between 27 and 36 knots. A 1,200 litre fuel tank, among the largest in its class, ensures extended range. The Gozzo 42 is certified for up to 14 passengers.
