Aquila Reveals the 45 Sport Power Catamaran
Aquila Catamarans has launched the 45 Sport, the new flagship of its sport power catamaran range. Designed in partnership with Yacht Design Works, the vessel adopts a luxury SUV aesthetic with bold lines and a commanding 15-foot beam.
Built using a vacuum-infused vinylester process for maximum durability, the hull features double-stepped technology that allows twin 600 HP Mercury Verado V12 engines to propel the craft to speeds exceeding 50 mph.
The heart of the 45 Sport is an expansive aft cockpit that transforms into an massive social hub via hydraulic flip-down side terraces, extending the beam to 19 feet. This area includes convertible U-shaped seating, a sunbed, and a galley prepped for a BBQ and television.
At the bow, a full-beam lounge offers forward-facing sunbeds and integrated storage for fenders and lines. Overhead, a custom hardtop provides equipment racks and a concealed electric awning for on-demand shade.
Technology and comfort are prioritized at the helm, which features four protected, forward-facing seats and a digital dashboard with triple 16-inch chartplotters. An advanced C-Zone switching system manages the vessel’s power, including an optional lithium battery bank designed to run the air-conditioning system off-grid.
Below deck, the 45 Sport surprises with genuine overnight capabilities, offering a king-size bed, a private wet head, and a large skylight that floods the cabin with natural light.
