Pardo 43 Review: Summer Icon Became Even Better
The new Pardo 43 keeps all the features of its successful predecessor, and brings many innovations suggested by owners of the previous model and by designers succeeding to make a good model even better
As Cantiere Del Pardo developed through decades, several Grand Soleil sailing models marked important steps, but it wasn’t until the builder added a motor yacht, Pardo 43, to their catalog in 2017 that they could say they had a total hit.
Cantiere Del Pardo modern classic
This modern classic boasting Italian elegance was simply stunning and opened the door to a market segment previously untested by Pardo, marking their entry into the range which today spans from 38 to 72 feet motor yachts. The original Pardo 43 has been sold in over 300 units, which clearly speaks of its success and significance for the builder.
Since the inception of Pardo 43, Cantiere Del Pardo has changed ownership, and so this evolution of their most popular model also marks the personal approach of the new management structure. The task of redesigning the old Pardo 43 was entrusted to the proven team bringing together Studio Nauta and Italian studio Zuccheri Yacht Design, and that task was anything but easy. Their brief: making a good model even better.
At their press conference in Cannes 2025, during the world debut of the new model, we learned the new project had undergone as many as 84 improvements. This is truly an evolution, not just a design refresh – even though the most visible thing about the new prototype was the metallic sky-blue hull paint.
Redesigned deck and exterior
The Pardo 43 retains everything that made the original an icon, while offering a host of carefully considered upgrades: all-new hull windows, which the original model didn’t have, for more natural light below deck; redesigned sunpads and T-top; a reworked external galley; and modular interiors that seamlessly transform from day to night.
Subtle yet striking new design details – like the air intakes that have been relocated to the exterior and cleverly integrated into the ‘swoosh’ of the topsides – enhance both form and function. The descending sheer line adds a sportier, more dynamic silhouette, while the refined hull geometry delivers an even more fluid, elegant profile.
The dashboard has been completely redesigned for improved functionality and user experience. The forward sunbathing area now includes a bow-facing bench; a new feature that invites relaxed sociable moments at sea. At the stern, a deeper sunpad, now featuring lighter styling and an integrated spoiler-like design inspired by the ‘big brother’ GT52, offers even more space to unwind.
Smart onboard tech and galley
The redesigned outdoor galley adds more storage and workspace, invisible side-step hardware for easier embarkation and new storage pockets integrated into the bulwarks keep the deck uncluttered and practical. A retractable and electrically operated sliding hatch system allows for a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, enhancing liveability in every condition.
As an ode to modern times, Starlink connectivity is now available on board, offering satellite-based high-speed internet even in the most remote cruising destinations. New features include an automatic bathing ladder for easy water access, solar panels for sustainable self-charging, extended windscreen for better side protection, and the anchor bow has been enhanced with new functionality.
Modular layouts
Fuel and freshwater capacities have each been increased allowing for extended cruising without the need for frequent refueling or restocking. Upgraded underwater lights provide the perfect ambiance for evenings at anchor, while whole lighting can be dimmed and you can pick any color you like.
Inside, the new Pardo 43 offers a choice of two layout options: with a twin cabin aft and a fixed V-berth ensuite in the bow, or a forward dinette with bench seating that can be easily transformed into a comfortable double bed.
Performance at sea
Reflecting the demand for tailored performance, the new Pardo 43 introduces the option of outboard propulsion. Owners can now choose between Volvo Penta IPS drives – IPS 500 (std), 600 (opt) and 650 (opt) – or a triple outboard configuration with Mercury V10 engines. With IPS she sails with a maximum speed of 37 knots and a consumption of 190 liters per hour, while cruising speed starts at 23 knots and the consumption of 100 liters.
We had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Andrea Mucciolli, who accompanied Pardo 43 across the Adriatic, to Dalmatia Boat Show in Marina Baotić: 'Regarding navigation experience, let me say that the 43 is smooth on the waves, balanced and reactive. The navigation is nice and relaxed, especially in the beautiful Croatian environment.'
Although the Italian builder was faced with a difficult task, they seem to have pulled it off without a glitch, creating an even more refined and more functional little motor yacht.
