This year, the Biograd Boat Show broke all records, with more exhibitors, boats, premieres, and attendees than ever before
More than 350 exhibitors and 300 boats were on display from October 26th to 30th, with more than 78 new vessel premieres. The organizer, Ilirija d.d., really proved themselves with an exceptionally organized, premium level show. There was an impressive improvement in the luxury segment, with a vast selection of vessels up to 22m. The clientele for such vessels continues to grow, as Biograd is a big draw for international boaters that gravitate to the Croatian coast.
The show is very much a lifestyle show, offering a beautiful exhibition environment in a charming resort town that comes alive during the show. Sunset marks the end of the exhibits and the start of an evening entertainment program with multiple live music events, art displays, and fireworks. The Biograd Boat Show also means business.
The organizers have created Biograd B2B, a business networking event that runs in parallel with the show, links business participants, an includes an extensive congress program. It also includes the Croatia Charter Expo, a B2B event where more than 3000 charter yachts are represented. Next year, this biggest of Central Europe’s in-water shows will mark its 25th anniversary, but we can already say it has made its mark on the world stage.
Monachus 70 Fly
After the world premiere at the nautical fair in Venice earlier this year, the largest serial production yacht produced in Croatia, Monachus 70 Fly, was presented at the largest Croatian nautical fair, Biograd Boat Show. The Monacus 70 Fly is an elegant twenty-one and a half meter long flybridge yacht in the style of an Italian lobster. The yacht has a striking and serious hull design that ensures excellent maritime characteristics, which is why the yacht has the highest CE category standard: ‘A’.
The Monachus 70 Fly boasts a spacious aft platform, a large space on the aft part of the main deck behind the superstructure, spacious lounge chairs and a dining table on the bow, and, to top it all off, a sporty fly-bridge. Absolute Coupé 48
Sporty lines for a layout devoted to comfort and highly versatile: Absolute 48 Coupé stands out for her bold style, high level of usability, and a strong commitment to sustainability. The cockpit is wide and extremely cozy, with no visual barriers or fixed obstacles and therefore its space can be adapted to multiple configurations.
The opening of the side gunwales offers a direct view of the sea and the new glazed balustrades towards the stern give an unparalleled scenery, even from the salon and the helm station. The outdoor furniture can be easily arranged in different configurations, adapting to the different needs onboard, perfect for either maximum relaxation or hanging out with friends.
DB / 43
The first model from the new ‘Daly Boats’ line by well-known French manufacturer Jeanneau attracted a lot of attention at all the other fairs where it was presented, so the Croatian premiere at the Biograd Boat Show attracted a lot of attention and interested buyers with its striking sporty design and unusual completely straight bow.
The DB 43 is a day cruiser with a special focus on creating pleasant spaces for being outdoors with its movable stern platform and opening sides. In addition to the pleasant deck, there are two cabins in the interior, each of which can have its own bathroom. The model is available with 2 x Volvo D6-380 inboard engines or with 3 x 300 or 350 HP outboard engines.
Fountaine Pajot MY4.S
Motor catamarans are becoming more and more popular this year thanks to the excellent spaciousness they provide. The MY4.S is a sport top version of a motor catamaran from the French manufacturer Fountaine Pajot, which was presented at the nautical fair in Biograd na Moru. This eleven-meter long and five-meter wide catamaran is available in the Maestro Version with three double cabins and two bathrooms, and the Quatuor Version with four double cabins and two bathrooms.
In the superstructure there is a salon and a kitchen, and on the main deck there is also a spacious stern space and a sunbathing area at the bow. It is available with two Yanmar engines of 150 HP each or two engines of 250 HP each.
Pičuljan Squama 21
The Croatian boat manufacturer, Pičuljan, from the island of Rab, for the Biograd Boat Show prepared the Croatian premiere of its latest model, the Squama 21. The new model represents a departure from the traditional design of Pičuljan vessels and emphasizes modern, sharp lines, which ultimately gives the vessel a more aggressive look, as befits fast speedboats. The Squama 21 Open is a day-cruiser with a length of six meters and a width of two meters and forty centimeters, with the possibility of installing an outboard engine of 100 to 200 HP, enough for a maximum speed of up to 45 knots.
The Bavaria SR36HT is the continuation of Bavaria SR series in Open Top and Hard Top versions, which premiered at the Palma Boat Show in Mallorca. This latest design is also this time signed by the Italian designer Marco Casali, who, together with the development team of Bavaria, designed the sporty, elegant lines of the motorboat, which with a standard bathing platform measures 12.28 m in length and 3.85 m in width. Especially surprising is the wide shape of the hull, which provides a spacious interior, large window areas and a lot of space in the bow and stern.
FIM Regina 340
High performance, unique design, timeless elegance. The 340 Regina is a small yacht that reflects the best characteristics of Made in Italy. Dynamic and modern line, without sacrificing luxury and refinement, this yacht has attracted a lot of attention at all the boat shows where it has appeared so far and it attracted a lot of attention at its Croatian premiere at the Biograd Boat Show.
Saxdor 320 GTC
This closed version of the Saxdor 320 is a reflection of the recognizable Scandinavian philosophy, great design and intriguing concept. It has the same elegant and efficient body design as the Saxdor 320 GTO, which provides the best performance. With two Mercury V6 CMS outboard engines with 225 hp each, it can accelerate up to a maximum of 45 knots, but it is also extremely easy to manage. The standard equipment includes side platforms, an adjustable rudder wheel, a kitchen module and a bed for two, and additional equipment includes a bow thruster, sun deck, air conditioning, two refrigerators and a smart solution for an additional bed in the salon and a stern bench.
Saxdor 270 GTO
Immediately after the world premiere at the Southampton Boat Show in September, the brand new model Saxdor 270 GTO had its European premiere in Biograd and represents the next step in the evolution of Saxdor Yachts. The result of vacuum infusion construction is a light, but strong and extremely stable ship with greater fuel efficiency. This Saxdor 270 GTO has a 300 hp Mercury V8 Sea pro CMS engine and white gray hull, and on deck there is an outside bar, designer seats with a teak cockpit table, all topped with a T-top for a very sporty look.
At the Biograd Boat Show, it was possible to visit the Ryck 280, which was rated as the best motorboat in 2021. This unique day cruiser was developed in collaboration with the famous British designer Bill Dixon, who on this boat successfully combined a sporty design and an open layout that includes a comfortable cabin with a toilet. A large T-top gives a stamp to the sporty and modern design. Equipped with an outblard motor from 250 to 350 HP in combination with a stepped hull, it provides an exciting boating experience.
The newest Bali model, presented in April this year, Bali 4.4, had its Croatian premiere at the Biograd Boat Show. And this model contains all the recognizable trademarks of the Bali concept, such as tilting doors in the saloon, side sliding windows, front saloon doors leading to a fixed cockpit on the bow and a sumptuous flybridge.
With an overall length of 13.75 meters and a beam of 7.4 meters, the Bali 4.4 is also available in a three-cabin owner’s version in which the portside hull features an owner’s cabin equipped with a large bathroom with two sinks and a large shower cabin. The version with four cabins can accommodate up to eight guests, and each cabin has its own bathroom. It is possible to install two skipper’s cabins in the bow and a table that converts into a bed in the salon.
The Excess 11 is the only serial production catamaran on the market for this size. It is also one of the smallest cruising catamarans that can offer so much comfort and space. Excess 11 is a model capable of long cruises and made for life on board. According to the designers, the goal was to create a real catamaran for cruising, which is available in a version with three cabins and two bathrooms or with four cabins and two bathrooms. Considering the increasing popularity of catamarans in our market, we expect this boat to receive a lot of attention.
Among the sailboats, the elegant sports cruiser Solaris 50 made its debut in Croatia. After the success of the Solaris 48 and 50 models, the Italian sailboat manufacturer Solaris launched a project to develop new waterlines for future models, and the result is the new Solaris 50 with a total length of 15.50 m and a width of 4.78 m. The result of the innovative water lines is the extension of the aft sections, which allows the use of double rudder blades and the installation of a dinghy garage with longitudinal access, which is a unique solution on yachts of this size. The spacious cockpit gives enough space to place a second dining table. The interior is available with three cabins with two or three bathrooms.
Elan Impression 43
In addition to the sporty Elan E6, which had its Croatian premiere at the Biograd Boat Show, Elan Yachts has decided to choose this fair for the world premiere of the brand new Elan Impression 43 model, which continues the tradition of the famous Impression line. With a modern wide hull, the yacht offers much more space than previous models. Hull and sail plan is designed by naval architectural studio Humphreys Yacht Design. The aesthetics of the yachts were designed in collaboration with the Pininfarina design studio.
The cockpit is made for enjoyment at anchor as well as for the pleasure of sailing. Enough room for up to 10 people will ensure that everyone is comfortable on board and the double helm with composite rudders offers freedom of movement on board. Owners can choose between three or four-cabin versions. The three-cabin version includes an en-suite with an island bed and a spacious head with a separate shower, and the four-cabin version adds a cabin with bunk beds, perfect for families or groups of friends.
This sailboat is a good example that small sailboats are still not a neglected category, but are becoming more and more luxurious and of higher quality. Thus, the Oceanis 34.1 is more elegant, lighter, with a larger sail area and more space on the bow for the owner’s cabin than its predecessor. Marc Lombard and NAUTA Design joined their efforts to produce a unique design concept, true to the spirit of the 7th generation Oceanis line.
The deck layout has been redesigned to ensure maximum comfort and safety when moving around the boat. All the ropes for the sails and for the furling system are located in front of the cockpit, while on each side there is a winch for the helmsman for the headsails. The result is an uncluttered cockpit ideal for relaxing, with easy access to the aft swim platform.
