From showcasing the artistic masterpieces of Van Gogh and Monet to technological innovations and the artisanal skill of crafting, these limited-edition timepieces transcend the simple function of telling time.
Krayon The Starry Night
Reinterpreting Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Krayon has created a unique horological masterpiece: Anywhere Starry Night. Crafted for Formula 1 legend Jean Todt from a single block of platinum, the Swiss independent watchmaker captures the essence of one of the most famous Post-Impressionist paintings, transforming the watch into a work of art.
The dial was created using the artisanal technique of enameling, creating a unique harmony where time seems to stand still in the eternal beauty of ‘Starry Night’. The watch is powered by a mere 5-millimeter thick hand-wound movement, designed and developed by Krayon founder Rémi Maillat.
Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Sandstone
The Swiss brand Laurent Ferrier is renowned for timepieces that blend timeless, classic lines with modern details. The Classic Auto Sandstone underscores a discreetly sporty elegance with a sand-colored dial reminiscent of the subtle hues of timepieces from the last century. The center of the dial features a vertical satin-brushed finish. Thus, when light ripples across it, one can see an alternation of beige shades, from the lightest to the darkest.
The railway track, on the other hand, boasts a circular satin finish for a discreet two-tone look. The model is part of Laurent Ferrier’s Atelier series and will be produced in a limited run of just 20 numbered pieces.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Monet Reverso Tribute
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, renowned for its elegant Art Deco design, has served as a canvas for three legendary Venetian paintings by Claude Monet. The miniaturization of these Impressionist masterpieces onto the small 25×20 millimeter case backs required extraordinary skill, with the enameling process alone taking up to 70 hours.
To capture the depth and texture of the original paintings, up to 14 layers of enamel were applied, with multiple firings at temperatures reaching 800°C. The Venice series of the Reverso will be available in an extremely limited quantity of 10 pieces per design.
Armin Strom Dual Time GMT Resonance
The independent Swiss brand Armin Strom celebrates the 15th anniversary of the manufacture with the Dual Time GMT Resonance First Edition model. The watch comes in an elegant 18-carat white gold case, and between the two sky-blue dials, a kinetic spectacle unfolds through the visible parts of the mechanism.
Using the principle of resonance (where the name of the watch comes from), the Dual Time GMT is driven by two mechanisms that can show two time zones, hours, minutes, and has a night-day function, completely independently of each other. Limited to 25 copies, Resonance represents the pinnacle of engineering precision and innovation in the world of watches.
A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Handwerkskunst
Twenty-five years ago, A. Lange & Söhne introduced the Datograph – a milestone in precision watchmaking. The limited-edition Datograph Handwerkskunst is crafted from 18-karat yellow gold with a black rhodium dial that is magnificently hand-engraved – a signature element of all Handwerkskunst models.
Since the first Handwerkskunst was introduced in 2011, all special edition watches have boasted richly decorated dials as a testament to the craftsmanship and mastery of the watchmakers from the Saxon town of Glashütte. As with every movement from the German manufacture, all 426 components are assembled, disassembled, and reassembled to ensure absolute precision.
