As elegant as a sports car, the largest model of the Italian shipyard charms with sophisticated design and bold interior solutions
World Premiere at Cannes
This relatively new shipyard – Italian FIM (Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi) – have so far debuted several very interesting models, that have caught the attention of the nautical world. Their latest is the new 500 Regina, which again turned many heads at this year’s Cannes fair in her world debut.
The new FIM 500 Regina is currently the largest model of her builder and will be the largest model of their open series, with models with an open cockpit protected with a hard top.

Innovative Hard Top Design
And it is the hard top that makes this model so recognizable, as it begins at the windshield and continues onto the roof, which is supported at the rear by two poles attached to the railing. Underneath the roof, the well-protected cockpit has tall side windows, adding to the sporty look of the hull, dotted with tinted cabin windows.
Aft Section: Practical and Stylish
Overall, this model looks a lot like classic sports cars, which, according to the designers, were a great inspiration. This is also visible on the aft, beginning with the aft platform and continuing with the spacious aft garage which also resembles the trunk of a classic car.
The aft garage is designed to accommodate a tender up to 2.60 m long with an outboard motor, and the aft platform, which can dive to a depth of 50 cm, allows the tender to be easily lifted with the help of an electric winch.
Luxurious Cockpit Features
In the cockpit, toward the bow there is a large outdoor bar with a refrigerator, ice maker, sink and electric kettle, and behind, the TV set that is hidden when not in use. The entire area is protected by the mentioned hard top, made from recycled carbon.
The center section of the hard top is a pivot to allow fresh air into the cockpit, but still protect against wind while driving, and the hard top can be enclosed with awnings.
Retro-Inspired Interior with Modern Touches
The cockpit is full of innovative details and delightful, but it’s the interior that takes the crown. The stairs right next to the command console allow easy access below deck, where the first thing you’ll see is a quirky small red kitchen with white counter tops, located in the central part that connects all the spaces below deck. We loved the catchy tiles, black and white like a chessboard.

Performance That Matches the Design
Unfortunately, we could not test the FIM 500 Regina at the Cannes show, but the builder’s data show that the two IPS 800 D8 engines proved top speed of 35 knots at 3080 rpm and consumption of 240 l/h, while the optimal cruising speed is 30 knots at 2800 rpm and 206 l/h. Economy speed is 23 knots, with consumption dropping to 151 l/h.
Beautifully designed and with plenty of striking features in the interior and exterior design, the FIM 500 Regina is a stylish yacht that will definitely turn heads, created for daring owners who value uniqueness.
