Peace, quiet, sunbathing, sailing, cruising among islands… Even in this idyllic setting, people want to throw a high-end yacht party, but they’re not sure which person or agency can organise it for them. Where to get loudspeakers, a DJ or an artist, how to get the equipment onboard?
Aida Boban of Split’s Cosmic Production has the answers to these questions.
ARE THERE ENOUGH HIGH-QUALITY DJS FOR YACHT PARTIES IN THE ADRIATIC?
At Cosmic Production, we have extensive experience in working with DJs in Dalmatia. We have collaborated with a number of clubs, hotels, beach bars, restaurants, and charter agencies. We’re one of the few DJ agencies in the region that has kept its booking services highly professional since the beginning, listening carefully to our clients’ wishes. Exclusive VIP parties on megayachts are becoming increasingly popular. As the offer of luxury mini cruisers increases and more and more big yachts sail to Croatia, the demand for entertainment events grows. Clients on bigger boats mostly value privacy and discretion, but they also like to have fun. That’s why we’ve extended our reputation when it comes to high-end parties on land to yachts.

WHICH ARTISTS DO YOU WORK WITH AND COULD YOU BRING BIG GLOBAL DJ STARS IF A CLIENT ASKED YOU TO?
We work with 20 DJs from Croatia and Europe, one or two to suit every kind of taste. They mostly do electronic music or its subgenres, such as house, EDM, techno or tech house. We also have DJs that specialise in genres, for example the ‘80s, ‘90s, RnB, hip-hop, funk, or open-format DJs. When it comes to global DJ stars, the only limit to booking them is the budget. Anyone who wants to contact us in relation to throwing a yacht party can do so on our website, cosmicproduction.hr, or they can contact me personally. After the client indicates the type or the theme for the party they want, we at Cosmic suggest artists we feel would best fit their wishes. It’s important for the end customer to be familiar with the artists because it means they will be pleased, as will the ship’s captain. Legally speaking, all our artists are authorised to perform music and have all the necessary licences. After confirming the artist selection, the client has nothing more to worry about. We take care of everything, from deciding in which port the DJ will board the ship, to defining the loudspeaker wattage, light show and equipment transport.
APART FROM BOOKING DJS, YOU ALSO OFFER RENTALS OF DJ AND AUDIO EQUIPMENT, AS WELL AS MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS?
Sometimes clients bring their own DJs or bands, in which case we offer audio and DJ equipment rentals and instruments, for parties with 20 to 200 guests. Our portfolio comprises only the best equipment, brands such as Pioneer DJ, Bose, etc. Starting this year, we’re also going to have battery-powered DJ controllers and loudspeakers. This type of equipment is mostly rented by clients on yachts that don’t have too much free space.
IS THERE AN INTERESTING ANECDOTE OR A DETAIL FROM one of your parties that you could share with us?
As a rule, no, because discretion, privacy and a high level of professionalism are crucial for cooperation with our clients. I can give an antonymous example. A party near the Island of Hvar on a megayacht, measuring over 100 m, our most wanted DJ Matthew Bee and Forbes Top 20 guests in attendance. After the show, there was a note with a phone number and an open invitation for a private show in Hong Kong waiting for the DJ. This shows that we leave quite an impression on our clients.
