Itama 70: Art of the Italian Open Yacht

Itama 70 enhances the experience of freedom at sea through new spaces, innovative solutions and a contemporary design language, while retaining the minimalist style that has always been a feature of every model in the brand’s range.

Measuring 21.23 metres in length and 5.30 metres in beam, Itama 70 was developed by Ferretti Group's Strategic Product Committee and Engineering Department. Vallicelli Design styled the exterior and IdeaeItalia the interiors, reinterpreting Itama's heritage to balance sportiness, elegance and comfort.

True to 'Made in Italy' style and Itama's sporty lines, the exterior offers a contemporary take on the brand's tradition. The gunwale is aligned with the sheer line, placing the hull-deck junction at the highest point of the hull, at the deck edge. The resulting convex profile sweeps from bow to stern and enlarges the deck spaces, especially forward. 

Side windows along the hull, introduced on the Itama 54, and a transom that follows the angle of the stem complete an elegant, dynamic silhouette that embodies the brand's sporting spirit.

Main deck

The main deck of Itama 70 is designed for enjoying life at sea in utmost comfort, with spaces devoted to socialising.

From the spacious stern platform, which can hold a tender of 3.25 metres, a door in two sections opens into the cockpit: the upper part by pantograph, the lower swinging out as a practical step. The stern is dominated by a large sun pad, an iconic Itama feature, joined to the dining area by an integrated backrest for a seamless transition. 

The dining area has U shaped seating and a table with a teak top. Opposite, on the starboard side, the wet bar has a sink and fridge and can be customised with an ice maker, grill or hob and an extra drawer fridge. 

One configuration even allows two cooking stations at once. With an optional cushion and versatile backrest, it becomes an elegant chaise longue. An electric bimini top shades the area and can be fitted with side panels and an aft extension.

The helm station on the port side offers excellent visibility and seating for three, with two touchscreen chartplotters of 12 inches (optionally 16 inches) running SIMRAD navigation.
In keeping with Itama tradition, the foredeck is reached via steps centrally positioned in relation to the windscreen, completely separate from the companionway to the lower deck for a smoother flow of movement. 

As on the Itama 54, a spacious forward sun pad is integrated into the deck design, inviting guests to enjoy the sea in complete freedom, with a panoramic view that reinforces the open yacht concept.

Lower deck

The lower deck features a step-free, single-level layout illuminated by large hull windows with integrated portholes. It includes a galley, dinette, three cabins, and three en-suite bathrooms. Positioned aft to optimize space and reduce noise, the master cabin offers a central bed and a private port-side bathroom.

Forward, the living area combines a starboard L-shaped sofa with storage and an extendable table, facing a fully equipped corner galley and a 55-inch TV. Hallway cabinets and space for an optional washer-dryer under the stairs optimize storage throughout.

Guest quarters feature a bow VIP cabin and a port guest cabin with a queen bed, an optional Pullman berth, and a bathroom that doubles as a dayhead via hallway access. An optional single crew cabin with a private head accessible beneath the aft sun pad can alternatively serve as additional storage space. Interiors blend leather and wood finishes in warm date or blue color choices.

Propulsion and technology

Itama 70 is fitted with twin MAN V12 engines. The standard version features two 1,400 HP engines, delivering a top speed of 37 knots and a cruising speed of 33 knots; the optional version, with two 1,550 HP engines, delivers a top speed of 39 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots (preliminary data). 

The boat is fitted with state-of-the-art technology, including the XENTA electro-hydraulic steering system, which can be equipped with a manoeuvring joystick. Also from XENTA are the trim tabs and thrusters (the stern thrusters are optional). The yacht can also be fitted, on request, with the Seakeeper NG14 gyroscopic stabiliser to minimise roll.
