Sanlorenzo’s 74 m flagship pairs steel and aluminum with diesel-electric power, featuring a 300 m² owner’s deck, a 290 m² beach club, and light-filled salons

Sanlorenzo has unveiled the first 74Steel ahead of its launch in La Spezia, a milestone redefining what steel can achieve at sea. Measuring 74 metres and around 1,900 GT, this new flagship superyacht is the largest ever built by the Italian yard. A true luxury yacht, it combines cutting-edge technology, personalised interiors, and the understated refinement that has become Sanlorenzo’s signature.

Introducing the 74Steel

Developed on a pre-engineered technical platform, the 74Steel offers flexibility without compromise. Three hulls have already been sold, with a fourth in negotiation, each featuring unique interiors, layouts, and bow designs.

While the platform is conceived at 72 metres LOA, actual lengths vary by configuration. Propulsion differs too: the first two units feature diesel-electric systems, the third conventional shafts, demonstrating Sanlorenzo’s adaptability to each owner’s vision.

Flexibility and personalisation

The 74Steel platform allows each yacht to be tailored to the owner’s vision while maintaining engineering integrity. Differences in propulsion, interior layout, and bow configuration demonstrate the adaptability built into the pre-engineered framework.

Design & interiors

The exterior by Zuccon International Project blends flowing lines with architectural calm. A vertical bow and dynamic stern define the first hull, uniting form and function.

Interiors by Francesco Paszkowski with Margherita Casprini continue this sculptural approach, with curved furniture and organic textures shaping spaces for light, flow, and connection.

Life onboard

Life onboard spans six decks. The sun deck offers al fresco dining, a bar, sunpads, hot tub, and a forward firepit with panoramic views. The owner’s deck is a 130 m² private retreat with lounge, office, spa-like bathrooms, and a forward terrace with hot tub. The bridge deck houses an integrated helm, a touch-and-go helipad, and a sky lounge that opens onto an al fresco dining veranda.

The main deck features five guest suites, including a full-beam VIP, and a 130 m² saloon and dining area, with sliding doors connecting to the exterior and a glass-bottomed pool illuminating the beach club below.

The lower deck accommodates crew, a professional galley, tender garages, and a wellness centre with gym, spa, sauna, hammam, plunge pool, and family room, with folding bulwarks expanding the beach club at sea level. The tank deck provides storage, cold rooms, a wine cellar, and crew areas, with one hull even featuring hydroponic cultivation for fresh produce.

Advanced technical platform

A defining element of the first 74Steel is its diesel-electric system, which allows repurposing of technical spaces for recreational areas, most notably in the expansive beach club and spa.

Engineered in-house with Siemens Energy, the system uses six variable-speed Volvo Penta–Mase generators driving twin 1,000 kW Schottel E-Pods, supported by water-cooled LEHMANN COBRA lithium iron phosphate batteries with a combined 1.5 MWh capacity.

The yacht’s HVAC system employs Variable Air Volume technology to adjust airflow and temperature in real time, ensuring comfort, efficiency, and a quiet environment throughout.
