A weekend cruise in the magical Kornati archipelago on the hybrid yacht Greenline 58 Fly represents the perfect blend of nautical pleasure and environmental responsibility
Exploring the sea aboard a Greenline Yachts hybrid vessel offers a seamless blend of innovation, efficiency, and responsibility. This article will take you through an unforgettable journey along Croatia’s Kornati National Park, showcasing the benefits of hybrid technology – silent cruising, energy independence and comfort.
From running purely on electric power to recharging effortlessly on diesel mode, the Greenline 58 Fly delivers an unparalleled experience, proving that luxury and responsibility can go hand in hand.
Cruising towards Levrnaka
The charming town of Biograd is the perfect gateway to Kornati National Park. Departing from Marina Kornati early in the morning, we glide silently through calm waters on electric power, courtesy of the battery bank.
With no engine noise, we fully immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the Adriatic. With air conditioning running off the battery and a quick top-up at the fueling station, we set off towards Levrnaka, 30 nautical miles away.
After just a couple of miles, our battery level remains above 80 percent, a testament to Greenline’s hybrid technology. Switching to diesel mode, we cruise at 18 knots, recharging the batteries in just 20 minutes. The journey is peaceful, the horizon stretching endlessly, interrupted only by the occasional passing sailboat.
Serenity at anchor
By midday, we arrive at the tranquil bay of Levrnaka. The raw beauty of Kornati is on full display – untouched nature, crystal-clear waters, and total serenity. With no engine or generator noise to disturb the peace, we embrace the rhythm of the sea.
Over the next two days, time slows. We swim, bask in the sun, and admire the stunning sunsets. All onboard appliances and air conditioning run off the battery bank, lasting 48 hours before dropping to ten percent.
Smooth operator
At dawn on the third day, we bid farewell to our secluded haven. The Greenline 58 Fly powers up, and we begin the journey back. The efficient diesel engine ensures a smooth cruise, recharging the batteries along the way. After two hours, we return to Marina Kornati with 100 percent battery power, concluding a flawless weekend.
This hybrid-powered voyage through Kornati highlights not only Croatia’s breathtaking coastline but also the perfect blend of technology and sustainability, making every moment at sea truly special.
