At the heart of Greenline Yachts lie a passionately held respect for nature and the idea of environmentally friendly sailing. Innovative solutions and efficient drive systems allow the perfect balance between comfort, safety and care for the environment
Greenline Yachts is taking another big step in the direction of responsible yachting by offering on the entire range alternative solutions to the old generator paradigm. The New Responsible Power Pack technology, a sound combination of bigger battery package and alternators, allows lower emissions without any compromise on the way the yachts are used.
Among the other benefits al boats will now offer at least 48 hours of silent battery power at anchor or docks. Ownerscan run the entire house (including aircon full blast) and make the most of their home on the sea without the noise, vibration and smell of a generator. Not to mentions consumptions!
Instead of a generator, Greenline will fit a high-powered alternator that can take power from the engine when it runs to recharge a large lithium battery bank. In this way, the yacht can arrive at its destination with full batteries, ready for days of silent operation at anchor. When energy is used efficiently, the autonomyof the yacht can be extended for days by using solar power to cover hotel loads such as induction cooking and lighting.
The move will particularly fit those owners who still opt for a conventionally diesel powered Greenline yacht but are sensitive to newway of interpreting their yachting with a more responsible philosophy. Starting today, these yacht owners will no longer need a dedicated generator.
‘For conventional yachts, eliminating the generator is nothing short of revolutionary,’ said Vladimir Zinchenko, owner of Greenline Yachts. ‘There is barely a yacht on the market in Greenline’s class of length and luxury that is capable of doing this. My mission has always been to further the concept of responsible yachting, and this shift towards using high-powered alternators and batteries will save tonnes of CO2 emissions.’
Greenline Yachts represents the pinnacle of hybrid yachting, seamlessly blending electric and traditional diesel propulsion to offer a unique sailing experience. The core of this innovation lies in the H-Drive system, enabling both high-speed and silent, emission-free cruising. This approach not only promises an unmatched level of tranquility but also significantly diminishes the environmental impact, aligning luxury with sustainability.
Central to Greenline Yachts’ design is the Lithium Polymer battery system, boasting high energy density and a lightweight profile, ensuring that these yachts are as efficient as they are environmentally conscious. The charging process is ingeniously managed through solar panels and the motion of the yacht itself, promoting energy independence and environmental stewardship.
While the hybrid system represents an initial investment and adds weight, the benefits of reduced maintenance, operational simplicity, and sustainability justify the commitment. Greenline Yachts doesn’t just focus on innovation and luxury; safety is a paramount concern, with real-time monitoring systems ensuring a secure and peaceful journey.
The distinction between hybrid systems is crucial for potential buyers. Greenline’s parallel hybrid system merges the best of electric and diesel worlds, offering flexibility and efficiency without compromising on performance or comfort.
Greenline Yachts is more than a brand; it’s a movement towards sustainable, luxurious sailing, where innovation meets the open sea. With every voyage, Greenline charts a course towards a future where yachting and environmental responsibility sail hand in hand, ushering in a new era of nautical exploration.
The shipyard is also reducing waste and power usage on the production lines. Any offcuts of wood from the interior fit-out are collected and pressed into heating pellets, while leftover foam is reused by a neighbouring company to produce home insulation. Production of single-use marketing materials has been almost eliminated and even then, it is clearly focused on recycled or sustainable materials.
Greenline Yachts is also working on an annual Greenline Yachts award to recognise those owners who have made the biggest strides towards responsible yachting each year. For example, the awards will celebrate the owner whose yacht has generated the greatest amount of solar power over that year, as well as the highest number of electric engine hours. This data can be tracked by the client via the Greenline app if the owners agree.
It is all part of the Greenline Yachts philosophy of empowering owners to put sustainability at the core of their yachting experience. That is why Greenline Yachts makes sure that every new yacht it delivers is equipped with biodegradable green yacht wash that does no harm to the ocean, and that all its owner’s manuals are in digital form, not printed.
