Split-based Nautika Centar Nava and their Volvo Penta Center for Croatia presented new professional Volvo Penta Inboard Performance System (IPS) platform, under the slogan ‘From yacht to superyacht’. It is a revolutionary and innovative system for professional vessels and yachts from 25 to 55+ meters in length, which should be available as soon as 2025.
The system uses the largest and most powerful marine drive in the Volvo Penta range – the Volvo Penta IPS 40, with a pioneering dual drive concept. Volvo IPS 40 is adaptable to internal combustion engines, fully electric and hybrid power systems, and can be installed as a double, triple or quadruple system, allowing vessels to have from four to eight power sources.
First tests showed a significant saving in fuel consumption, longer range, higher speed, and reduced noise levels. Owners of the new Volvo Penta IPS will also enjoy higher level of service and support, through a network of authorized service centers, both internationally and in Croatia.
