Top 10 Beaches By BeachRex

4 minutes

We bring you a compact overview of the 10 best beaches for those who enjoy yachting. Gregor Balažic, creator of the BeachRex project, worked hard to scrutinise and compare more than a thousand Croatian beaches

Gregor Balažic began his exploration of Mediterranean beaches with a thorough plan and a clear vision. Its results include an extensive collection of imagery (50,000 photographs, 2,500 videos and many 3D spherical shots), and more than 500,000 location-specific details on beach type, infrastructure, facilities and services offered. The data is currently available at www.beachrex.com. This cutting edge website allows users to easily search beaches all over Croatia, from Istria, Kvarner and Dalmatia to Dubrovnik, with special emphasis on the Croatian islands.

Each beach study features high-quality photographs, video footage and 3D spherical imagery that enables the viewer to see it from every perspective. Furthermore, there is useful information on car parking facilities, accessing the beach, navigation to and travel time to the beach, water temperature and weather forecast. BeachRex even explains what conditions you can expect to find at the beaches. For example, sand or stones, the availability of natural shade, the ambience (family beach, explorer beach, party beach), restaurants, available sports facilities, regular entertainment and whether or not accommodation is available. Enthusiastic users can add their own comments and rate the beach. Soon, there will be 1,500 French, Spanish and Italian beaches presented.
